LeBron James Kid

The “LeBron James” Kid is Terrance Jackson, known for a Vine montage in which he repeatedly says the basketball player’s name. The repeated soundbite became the basis for remixes.

Know Your Meme dates the Vine’s upload to June 27, 2014, and says Viner DARius recorded it outside their house with his younger brother. Global Grind identifies the brothers as Darius and Terrance Jackson and reports that Darius posted the clip in 2014.

Know Your Meme reports a sharp rise in popularity in late January 2015, including a January 20 mashup by Harley Conway that substituted an adult for the boy.

On January 22, 2015, Viner William45 paired the soundbite with a scene from Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” video; Know Your Meme says other Vine remixes followed in the months afterward, using footage from television, films and music videos.

A Sacramento Kings Vine described a clip taken on January 2, 2016, with a DeMarcus Cousins and #NBAVote reference; its gallery title called Cousins the “LeBron James Kid’s new favorite player.” SB Nation also reported that the Kings had previously brought Jackson in to support Cousins.

At the Kings–Cavaliers game on March 9, 2016, Jackson took part in player introductions, including announcing LeBron James over the public-address system. SB Nation reported the appearance on March 10, and Global Grind said Jackson announced both teams’ rosters.

OpenCourt later reported that Jackson recreated the original delivery as a teenager; an embedded Bleacher Report post showing the recreation is dated August 7, 2026.

The joke centers on Jackson’s repeated, drawn-out delivery of a familiar player’s name, making the soundbite itself the focus. Remixes retain that audio while changing the accompanying footage, as in the “Blank Space” pairing, or replace the boy with an adult, as in Conway’s version.
