Pirate Gaster is a 2026 Deltarune fan meme that recasts the mysterious W. D. Gaster as a pirate captain. It is a community-made joke, not an official character or storyline.

drit__ posted the earliest documented viral version on X on June 27. It frames Kris, Susie, Noelle and enigmatic Deltarune figures aboard a ship as a mock leaked Chapter 7 boss introduction, set to “Pirate Dojo.”

The captain costume, ship and expandable crew gave artists an immediately legible setup to redraw and reinterpret.

On June 30, DrakeTheroux posted a vocal sea-shanty treatment connected to the meme. That pirate rhythm made the premise easy to carry into edits and short animations.

LeanaLeabian’s July 1 fan art and early video posts show the format moving beyond its first X post.

ge.adelade’s TikTok is an early animation example, using the pirate framing in short-form video.

Origami Yume Nikki’s 3D animation demonstrates the same idea in a different visual medium.

Other early YouTube uploads kept the crew and shanty versions circulating, while a July 4 fandom discussion records the joke reaching community conversation.

The crew remained flexible: artists could assign roles to Normal NPC, Aqua, Friend or the Roaring Knight rather than follow a fixed canon.
