Verity (ThatMob)

Verity is the yellow entity drawn from ThatMob's 20-minute Minecraft horror short “Something is Knocking at Your Door...”. The documented fan format isolates or reuses the character in animated GIFs, Minecraft alterations, and fan-made narrative art rather than treating it as a released game mod.

In the source video, Mob opens a box containing Verity, described as a “personal helper friend,” and uses it in a solo Minecraft world. Verity initially answers questions and gives game advice, then warns that empty villages were visited by something “hungry,” asks whether Mob lives alone, and says that something is coming. Mob confronts and traps Verity, retreats to a lookout, and at the documented ending hears Verity's music outside but stays on his bed; the transcript does not say what happens afterward.

The May 30, 2026 video is source material, not the documented beginning of fan use. Its description says Verity was added with scripted editing and sound and asks viewers not to request a mod. The earliest located public meme-related use is a 2.4-second Tenor GIF published by nyanicide on June 13, 2026 and tagged with Verity, ThatMob, and the source-video title. This is an earliest located GIF, not a claim that it was the first post on every platform.

A documented Tenor version followed on June 14: st4rry_sal posted a 1.5-second GIF tagged Verity, ThatMob, Minecraft, and Minecraft horror. Its page describes a game screenshot with a yellow smiley face, preserving the compact visual element that could be used apart from the full horror short.

On June 24, Tenor user FatRyu posted an 8.4-second “Verity Thatmob Spoiler” GIF described as a drawing of a face surrounded by flames. The next day, King_Of_Frogs released the Minecraft resource pack “Verity Sun,” which changes the Minecraft sun into Verity and links back to ThatMob's video.

A later documented adaptation appeared on July 20, when @Mr_Cl0wn_ presented a carousel titled “STAY” and labelled “Verity AU (WELCOME HOME MOB).” That entry shifts the character into an AU comic rather than a GIF loop or in-game texture.

The repeatable device documented in these examples is Verity's yellow smiley-face image placed into a new container. The June 14 GIF keeps it in a Minecraft screenshot, while “Verity Sun” makes the Minecraft sun into Verity's “Little Yellow Ball.” The later “STAY” carousel changes the format again by placing Verity in an AU comic.
