The scene comes from Remember, the finale of The Amazing Digital Circus, released by GLITCH on YouTube on June 19, 2026. The earliest meme use supported by this source set appeared on X on June 20, when @forever_gf618 replaced the escape route with the identity of Gravity Falls' journal author.

The format spread across X and Bluesky over the next few days. Creators filled in the promised discovery with answers to old jokes, references to current memes and crossovers with other animated series.

The edits soon moved beyond the sentence. Kaufmo's clothing, face and even character identity became part of the punchline, while the symmetrical hands made the screenshot especially easy to turn into a reveal, comparison or nested visual gag.

The setup sounds like an urgent reconciliation, so the reveal arrives with more dramatic weight than it deserves. It is also instantly modular: one clause establishes the characters' tension, while the final discovery can point to almost any fandom, mystery or running joke.

People use the format to present a silly answer as a breakthrough, connect two unrelated fandoms, or reveal an object between Kaufmo's open hands. More elaborate versions redraw Kaufmo to make the reference visual as well as verbal.
