Two Buttons
Origin
Two Buttons, also called Daily Struggle, shows a panicked man deciding between two red buttons. Animator Jake Clark posted the original comic to Tumblr on October 25, 2014; its first labels were “BE A DICK” and “DON’T BE A DICK.”
The blankable layout turned a small comic into a template: replace the labels with two conflicting wishes, rules, or identities, then let the sweat sell the difficulty.

Text on the image: “Sleep” / “Watch The Office.”
Spread
An early 2015 Imgur repost called the image Daily Struggle and helped move it into Reddit’s template culture. Most versions preserve the two-button hesitation; later edits extend the choice, make the character press both buttons, or add a final panel.

The format works for ordinary procrastination and for contradictions that people would rather not admit. The tension is readable before a viewer has finished the labels.

Why It Works
Two empty buttons create a compact argument: the audience supplies the conflict, then recognizes why neither option feels clean.
